they're odd creatures
undying, for one thing, and with very little concept of time, for another

they've no real comprehension of past or future, and to them the present is forever

in practice it means they're like children
and with magicks at their disposal besides

so they like to play tricks and harass visitors to their kingdom because everything is a game to them, forever
